What we store

Groups, members, expenses, settlements, recurring bills, comments, rent plans, categories and preferences that you add to a shared group are synced to our server so everyone in the group sees the same numbers. Previous versions of each record are kept so members can see the edit history and restore a change. Data is sent over HTTPS and stored by our Railway-hosted service in a PostgreSQL database.

Accounts

No email is required. The first sync creates an anonymous device account identified only by a random identifier. If you choose to add an email, we store it with an Argon2 password hash, never a plain-text password. Google sign-in uses your Google account identifier and email address only to authenticate you. We do not access your contacts, Drive or Gmail. Authentication tokens are kept encrypted on your phone.

Who can see your data

Only people who joined a group through its invite link or QR code can see that group. Invite links can be revoked. Member names in a group are visible to everyone holding a valid invite link so they can pick who they are.

No third-party sharing, ads or tracking

We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties, and Delbo has no ads, advertising identifiers or analytics SDKs. Payment buttons (for example Swish) only open the payment app on your phone with the amount filled in; Delbo never receives bank details or moves money. Server request logs contain request identifiers, method, path and status, not passwords, tokens or financial record contents. Exchange rates come from the European Central Bank; no personal data is sent to fetch them.

Deletion

You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or on the account deletion page. Deletion removes your account, sign-in details, sessions and every group in which you are the only member. Groups shared with others stay available to the remaining members, who become owners.
